Mangalore: The tension aroused as the office bearers of Kankanady Varthakara Sangha threatened the volunteers of Organic products awareness campaign in the Kankanady market on Saturday November 16.
It is said that as a part of the campaign the volunteers of the Organic products awareness campaign were selling the organic products in their vehicle at Kankanady Market, when an office bearer of the Kankanady Varthakara Sangha objecting their sale, warned them to move as it would hamper their business.
The volunteers refused to move from the place saying that it was a public place and they have informed the authorities about the campaign, to which the office bearers posed a threatened the volunteers.
The tension aroused in the entire market since the office bearers of the Kankanady Varthakara Sangha had a great support although the situation came under control after the arrival of the Kadri police.
A complaint has been registered in the Kadri police station.
JR Lobo flags off Organic products awareness campaign in Kankanady Market
Before the fight, MLA of Mangalore South constituency JR Lobo flagged off the Organic products awareness campaign organized by an association called Saavayava Prerana Koota in Kankanady Grounds at 9 am on Saturday November 16.
The campaign encourages awareness with regards to the usage of organic products like fruits and vegetables grown using organic manure.The campaign will be conducted for thirty days by travelling to various parts of the city and selling the organic products.
