Udupi : The judicial custody period of the three main accused in the Manipal gang rape case has been extended till August 26. The three namely Yogish, Hariprasad and Anand were produced before the Chief Judicial Magistrate’s Court on August 12, Monday.
Even Harindra and Balachandra, brothers of the main accused were produced before the court. The two were arrested on the charges of destroying evidences. Even they were remanded to judicial custody till August 26. Though the two had applied for bail, the same was rejected on the grounds that they may destroy more evidence.
The three main accused were then sent back to the Shimoga jail, while the other two were lodged in Hiriadka jail.
