Mangalore : Mangalore South MLA JR Lobo took MUDA officials to task  for permitting some layouts without any spot inspection.

Participating in a meeting convened by Urban Development Minister Vinaykumar Sorake at MUDA office on June 17, Monday, Lobo said some  who have been granted permits for layouts were found resorting to  acts like changing the course of the flow of rain water as well as encroaching public roads.

Highlighting the problems faced by common man due to apathy of MUDA authorities, he said the indiscriminate issuing of permits has led to hardships to many people  who face problems due to gushing in of rain water into their houses during monsoons. He also blamed the MUDA officials for failing to visit any site once permission is granted.

Lobo further referred to the encroachment made by a private club at Jeppinamogaru. Responding to this, the minister directed the MUDA officials to initiate remedial measures.
