Bangalore : Legislator of Mangalore South Constituency JR Lobo has made a strong case for a fresh investigation in the series of church attack cases which were reported during the tenure of the earlier BJP government.
Lobo was replying to the motion of thanks moved in the Assembly to the Governors address on June 12, Wednesday. The Legislator drew the attention of the government towards the fact that the Somasekhara Commission report into the church attacks was contradicting and that it had also not pinpointed any individual or organization as being responsible for the incident. Also no one has been punished in the case, so far, the MLA said and urged the government to initiate a fresh probe into the case.
The MLA also referred to moral policing and demanded stringent action against those resorting to such acts. Alleging that there has been saffronisation of text books, he also demanded revamping of the text book committee.
