Moodbidri: Police have arrested one person who was allegedly involved in stealing iron rods from construction sites. The arrested person has been identified as Harish Poojary(35).

He had stolen iron rods worth Rs 24000, from Devi Kripa Builders construction site in Mastikatte, and iron rods worth 15000 from Shetty builders Nagarkatte site during Deepavali vacation. Also he had stolen a Hero Maestro two wheeler KA19EK225 worth one lakh.

A person named Sudheer had complained to Moodbidri police station. As per his complaint circle inspector Anantha Padmanabha and team caught him near Karinje village in Biravu. Seeing the police he tried to escape but the police chased him and during interrogation he accepted his crime.

It is learnt that he was a mason and staying at his wife’s house in Shantiraj colony. Earlier a case was registered against him at Kadri station for 4 theft cases and for other theft cases at Moodbidri.

Moodbidri circle inspector Ramesh Kumar, Itappa, Santhosh B K, Muhammad Hussain, Chandrahas Rai, Vasu from crime branch and constables Megharaj, Surendra, Iqbal, Mohan, Ashith, Home guard Vinod helped in nabbing the accused.
