Early on Monday morning, an inmate awaiting trial took his own life by hanging in the hospital’s detention wing, where he was receiving treatment for depression.

Muhammad Noufal, a 26-year-old Keralan inhabitant of Majeshwar, is the deceased. According to Anupam Agrawal, commissioner of city police, the event happened at roughly 3.40 am. Noufal had been detained by the court in relation to a case that was scheduled at the Konaje police station on December 26, 2022.

Due to his depression, he was admitted to Wenlock Hospital’s jail ward several times. April 25 was the date of his most recent admittance. The paramedics and on-duty guards had tried their best to save him. The police station in Mangaluru South has received a case.
