Puttur: Vishwa Hindu Parishad’s International Working President Praveen Togadia on Friday said that the government should implement two-child norm, a must for all communities and deny facilities such as ration card or voting rights to those who have more than two children.
“If you (government) cannot implement the norm, we will call upon our youth to have three children”, Mr. Togadia said addressing a large number of people at Virat Hindu Sangam. The convention was organized by Vishwa Hindu Parishad here in Puttur.

Mr. Togadia said that the number of Hindus should be bolstered and added that he would greet wholeheartedly anybody who adopts Hinduism. “We will not allow any Hindu woman to be a victim of “Love Jihad” and that they would strongly oppose any move to change her religion”, he said.
Defending the “Ghar Wapsi” initiative, Mr. Togadia said that the campaign will continue till the law of this country makes it illegal to convert people from one religion to another. “It was not just love Jihad that is affecting the Hindus but also land, trade and population jihad. The political masters in many states, including Karnataka, were systematically suppressing Hindus in a bid to make them financially weak”, he alleged.
VHP Dakshina Pranta Pramukh Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat said it was a ceremony to welcome to the community those who belonged to it.
“India a Hindu Rastra”
Mr. Togadia further said that VHP is determined to make India a Hindu Rashtra and those who do not want to be a part of it, being in another religion, can take up Ghar Wapsi. The VHP will welcome you with open arms, he added. He also demanded for enforcement of uniform civil code.
“The Supreme Court has declared that Hinduism was not a religion but a way of life. Hence, those who feel uncomfortable to live in a Hindu nation should accept Hinduism”, he opined.
Nearly 1,500 policemen and Rapid Action Force personnel had been deployed to provide security to the event. The movement of traffic had been barred on the main road of the town since afternoon.
