Mangaluru: Two persons involved in the murder of Target Group member Ilyas on January 13 have been nabbed by the CCB sleuths.

The arrested are Mohammad Sameer alias Robert (27) from Abbakkanagar, Ullal and Nameer Hamza, (34) from Manjeshwar.

Sameer is facing charges of assault on Target Group members Surma Imran and Hamza. Meanwhile, Nameer has a murder case against him in the Konaje police station, a burglary case in Surathkal and a kidnapping case in Ullal.

It may be recalled that Ilyas was hacked to death by miscreants at his residence in Mangaluru. Ilyas’s name had cropped up soon after Deepak Rao’s murder as a picture of him with Minister UT Khader had gone viral. However, Khader had clarified that he neither had a connection with Ilyas nor with the Target Group.
