Bantwal: Over 25 loads of sand and a truck has been seized from a private land near Farangipete railway track by the officials of department of mining and geology here on Thursday night.
Following ban on sand mining and transportation from June 15 by the district administration the action has been taken by the officials. Locals had complained to the officials that few sand miners had stored sand in a private land near Farangipete. Based on the complaint, geology officer Girish Mohan raided the land and seized over 25 loads of sand and handed it over to public works department.

Public Works Department Engineer Umesh Bhat, Arun were present on the occasion.
