Illegal arms case : Rashid Malbari convicted

Mangalore : The Second Additional District and Sessions Court in Mangalore, has on August 26, Monday convicted notorious criminal Rashid Malbari, an aid of underworld don Chhota Shakeel  in an illegal arms possession case. The  judgement regarding the punishment will be pronounced on August 28.

Malbari who was wanted by the police who were investigating into the murder of a Chhota Rajan aide  named Shabbir Khan Murad Khan Pathak, was arrested by the DCIB police at Chattanchal in Kasargod in March 2009. Rashid was also wanted in the case of attempting to kill Chhota Rajan in Bangkok nearly 13 years ago.

Presently, there are over ten cases against Malbari in various police stations including Mangalore, Bangalore and Mumbai. He is also facing charges of  conspiring to murder BJP leader Varun Gandhi and Sri Rama Sene leader  Pramod Muthalik.
