ICYM Kelarai and ICYM city deanery initiates Green Park – Greenery Mangalore

Mangalore: The Indian Catholic Youth Movement ICYM kelarai in association with ICYM city deanery at Kelarai jointly organized “Green Park – Greenery Mangalore” at 8.30 am on Sunday August 3.

The initiative “Green Park – Greenery Mangalore” was inaugurated by Rev Fr Joachim Fernandes St Anne Church, Kelarai; ICYM, Diocese of Mangalore Director- Rev Fr Ronald Prakash D’Souza in the presence of MLA Moideen Bava.

Rev Fr Joachim Fernandes and Rev Fr Ronald Prakash D’Souza also spoke to the gathering, after which MLA Moideen Bava planted the first sapling.

Delivering the presidential address, MLA Moideen Bava said that the Christian community has not only uplifted the district in terms of education but their contribution to the society is immense.

Considering the area, he also stated that the Kelarai parish has always being active, moreover he pointed that the roads towards the church had lot of issues, and promised that it will be sorted.

Under the instigation around 500 saplings will be planted, as the St Anne Church, Kelarai has 500 family parishioners, thus representing every family a sapling will be planted, it is said.

Bejohn D’Souza compered the event; whereas Nikhil Pais delivered the vote of thanks.

ZP member Melwyn D’Souza, Jeeth Milan Roche – an activist, Joel D’mello from green fund association, Wilfred mascarenhas kelarai ICYM president , Sheldon Crasta from ICYM and parishioners were present.
