Kasaragod: In a surprising move, the government general hospital in Kasaragod has given importance to humour and entertainment to make the patients feel comfortable even in distress when they wait for long hours to receive treatment.
The walls have been painted to draw a smile from all the visitors and 18 short films of 15 minutes duration will be telecasted on the large television screens daily to soothe the patients in distress.

Televisions are kept at out-patient block, children’s ward and diagnostic centre to give information on various diseases like Dengue, Malaria, Cancer and Aids and also to provide entertainment to help patients who wait for long hours at respective lobbies.

Handouts containing information on various diseases are given and this rare move by the hospital administration has brought smiles on many patients’ faces and the people who assist the patients in the hospital.
