Congress holds protest against atrocities on Dalits

Bengaluru: The state Congress party unit staged a massive protest on Saturday, July 23, against the increasing incidents of atrocities against Dalits in the country.

The protest was led by Minister for Transport Ramalinga Reddy and Dinesh Gundurao at Maurya circle in the city. Thousands of party workers participated in the rally and shouted slogans against the Central government and PM Narendra Modi.

Meanwhile, the party workers expressed anguish against the Central government by burning effigies of PM Modi and BJP president Amit Shah.

Speaking on the occasion, Ramalinga Reddy said that Dalits and other downtrodden people are under threat under the Modi led government.

Due to protest, the traffic in Central Business District (CBD) was thrown out gear causing inconvenience to the commuters.
