Mangalore : A young woman was  found dead under mysterious circumstances in her residence at Gujjarakere on March 22, Saturday. It is suspected that she was   set on fire as her body was found charred. Police have taken her husband into custody.

The deceased has been identified as 25-year-old Sowmya, wife of Kiran. They have a five-year-old son.

It learnt Kiran works for a software company and stayed in Bangalore however last night he called his neighbour over the phone and asked her to take away his child from the mother stating that Soumya not well. The neighbour took the child away.

On Saturday morning when Kiran came from Bangalore he found Soumya burnt to death.

Pandeswhar police are investigating the case. More details are awaited.
