History-sheeter nabbed by CCB after nine years

Mangalore: A history-sheeter and an alleged murderer involved in several murder cases was arrested by the city crime branch (CCB) police at Kankanady junction railway station on Friday August 1.

The arrested has been identified as Imran, who had being on a chase for over nine year, when he had managed to flee from the clutches of police at Bappanadu under Mulky police limits in November 2005.
On September 21, 2003 Rakesh Kola, a cable network businessman was allegedly killed by Imran at Residency hotel in Udupi.

Along with Imran the other accused wanted in the case were, Siraj Hasan, Yuvaraj Tingalaya Gopal Bangera and Riyaz Sheik. They were logged in the district jail.

However on November 21, 2005 when the Udupi police was leading him towards the court for a hearing, returning from the court he managed to fled away.

A case was registered based on the complaint by the policemen who were escorting him, although it is only after nine year he was finally nabbed at Kankanady junction.

The swift operation conducted by CCB inspector Valentine D’Souza, along with Shashidhara Shetty, Ganesh, M P Ganesh Kalladka, Venugopal, Chandrashekar, Dinesh Bekal and others officials of CCB led to the arrest.
