Bantwal : Two persons were injured in a clash between Bhajrangdal and Hindu Jagarana Vedike activists at Kalladka here on August 30, Friday night. The incident took close on the heels of the attack on a Vedike activist by a group of around 50 Bhajrangdal men at Kumpala on Thursday night.
It is learnt, Friday night’s clash erupted over a trivial issue. Initially Jayaram, a Bhajrangdal activist and Kiran, a Vedike activist picked up a quarrel which soon snowballed into a clash as large number of people gathered on either sides.
Police had to resort to caning to bring the situation under control. Shops in Kalladka have downed their shutters as the incident spread panic in the area. Both Jayaram and Kiran who have been injured have been hospitalized. Security has been tightened in the area following the incident.
