Mangalore : Notorious criminal Rashid Malbari who was recently convicted in an illegal arms possession case, is now facing a fresh charge. He is now accused of threatening to kill a police officer.
Venkatesh Prasanna, CCB Inspector has lodged a complaint in Bunder police station against Rashid Malbari stating that he threatened him in the court premises after the court pronounced judgment convicting Malbari recently.
But, Purushottam Poojari, advocate for Rashid Malbari says that his client might have said so out of pain and that it cannot be considered as a death threat. Poojari also said that his client will contest the district court ruling in the High Court.
Rashid Malbari was arrested in March 2009 at Chattanchal in Kasargod along with his accomplices Mohammed Hashim, Sayaf and Ibu alias Ibrahim.
