Mangaluru: Holding the district administration, local legislators and state government directly responsible for riots in Dakshina Kannada in the recent past, the Hindu Hitharakshana Samiti (HHRS) activists resorted to protest by fasting urging the government to nab RSS activist Sharath Madiwala’s killers.

Hindu Hitharakshana Samiti leader Satyajit Surthkal accused the government of being soft towards Popular front of India (PFI) despite its record of “inflicting terror in the district and its links to Indian Mujahideen, a terror organisation.” Cases against PFI were withdrawn in no time despite their involvement in stone throwing and assault on Hindu activists, he charged.

“The events related to Sharath’s funeral procession were blown out of proportion by the police to inflict terror on Hindu activists. Police resorted to searches by terrorising innocent inmates in the houses to pull the innocent youth from their homes whereas the actual culprits (PFI activists) are roaming free due to the high-handedness of District In-charge Minister Ramanath Rai,” Satyajit Surathkal charged.

The protest and the hunger strike will go on till Sharath’s killers are nabbed by the police, he warned.

Prof. M B Puranik, VHP Working President, speaking on the occasion said, “Hindus over centuries, strived for peace in the society by adopting tolerant approach with love for humans as well as all living creatures. But by remaining tolerant, Sangh Parivar as a whole has become soft target and the killings in communist-led Kerala during the last 3 years illustrate the situation,” he explained.

Hindu girls have been lured into conversion by offering huge sums of money by Muslim outfits, he charged and the menace started with mobile outlets with links to Jihadi groups which targeted Hindu girls aged between 13 and 17, he accused.

The Muslim organisations hired killers from neighbouring Kerala to carry out terror and disturb peace in DK but the police remained blind spectators, he stated. The department which managed to nab Ashraf’s killers quickly, failed in collecting vital leads in Sharath’s case which illustrates the real story, he said.

Hindu youth who blocked illegal ferrying of cows were slapped with false cases and arrested, said Puranik and condemned the DK district administration’s move of arresting 5 youths under section 308, in connection with Bantwal/Kalladka incidents.
