High school Muslim girl tops state level Ramayana exam

Puttur: In a notable achievement, a Muslim girl from Sulliapadavu here has topped state level Ramayana exam.

Fathimath Rahila, a Class IX student of Sarvodaya High School, has scored 93 per cent the exam conducted by Bharatha Sanskriti Prathisthan in November last year. Rahila is also well-versed with Quran.

In words that foster communal harmony, her father Ibrahim, who works in a factory said that when Rahila expressed her desire to learn the two epics of India – Ramayana and Mahabharatha, both he and his wife happily expressed their consent as they believe that children should learn the essence of all religions.
