A 33-year-old woman from Gandhinagar in Sullia, Chandini GD, who has been battling a life-threatening disease, has been transferred to Hyderabad as her health condition worsened. This move comes after the intervention of the Chief Minister’s office, which provided medications following coverage by TOI, highlighting Chandini’s plight.
The Dakshina Kannada health department has reached out to the Karnataka Commissioner of Health, requesting assistance for Chandini’s treatment at AIG Hospitals in Hyderabad. Chandini was shifted from KMC Hospital in Mangaluru to AIG Hospitals in Hyderabad after her health deteriorated.
Dr. Thimmaiah HR, District Health Officer, highlighted Chandini’s medical history, including hyper IgE syndrome and other complications, emphasizing the need for specialized treatment at the department of immunology. Daari Mangaluru, a non-profit organization, has also rallied behind Chandini, seeking support from various government departments.
Chandini herself, with the assistance of Daari Mangaluru, has appealed to the state election commissioner and Chief Minister Siddaramaiah for financial aid to sustain her treatment in Hyderabad. She emphasized the significant financial burden her treatment entails and has reached out for assistance through the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. Well-wishers have already contributed Rs 50,000 through social media platforms to support her cause.
