Mangalore : A free dental treatment camp, oral cancer detection camp and blood donation camp was organised at the St Joseph High School premises at Bajal in the city on Sunday May 18 under the aegis of National Service Scheme of Nitte University and Buntara sangha, Kankanady. Dr Murali Mohan Chuntaru, NSS Co-ordinator of Nitte University inaugurated the camps.





In his address, Dr Murali Mohan described blood donation as a noble deed as it can save many lives. He also appreciated the organisers of the campo.
Ajay Kumar, Chairman of the Health Division of Red Cross Society of India, Ramachandra Ava, President of Kankanady Buntara Sangha, Naveen Chandra Semitha and Ramesh Shetty, Vice Presidents were present as chief guests.
Over 35 persons donated blood on the occasion, while nearly 100 persons benefitted from the dental and oral cancer detection camps.
A book entitled ‘Rakta Daana-Jeeva Daana’ authored by Dr Murali Mohan and which gives details about blood donation, was distributed among the gathering.
Nagesh Shetty, Secretary, proposed the vote of thanks.
