Bantwal: The Karnataka High Court double bench has issued notice to the government and 11 Parliamentary Secretaries appointed by the government outside the constitutional framework.
Informing about the same, Karnataka Janata Party State President Padmanabha Prasanna said that the state exchequer is getting a beating due to the appointment of the 11 Parliamentary Secretaries and realising the same the KJP had moved the Court seeking suspension of the 11 Parliamentary Secretaries.
Following this, bench comprising of Ravimalimath and Subrathorao Mukerjee has issued notice to the government and the 11 MLAs who have been appointed as Parliament Secretaries.
The final order in this regard is pending for next week.
He said that the CM, in a bid to console the MLAs who were denied a berth in the cabinet, appointed them to the said positions.
He cited the recent decision of West Bengal High Court had held the appointment of 24 parliamentary secretaries by the Mamta Banerjee government as unconstitutional.
Keeping the same as the background, the KJP too moved to court seeking removal of the 11 MLAs.
