Kasargod: Fossilized by the allegation of theft and harassment a second year degree student attempted suicide and later died at a Hospital in Mangalore on Saturday March 29.

The deceased, 19-year-old Shamseena a resident of Uduma Pakyar reportedly committed suicide by hanging on March 19 at her residence distraught by the torture by her classmates.

It is learnt that a mobile phone of Shamseena’s classmate was reportedly stolen two weeks ago and some students alleged that Shamseena had stolen it; they also accused her publicly on Social networking site that added her anguish.

After she had attempted suicide her family immediately rushed her to a private hospital in Kanhangad. But as her condition was critical, she was shifted to a hospital in Mangalore. She died while under treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the hospital.

Bekal police have registered a case and are investigating.
