Ullal: Three youth from Ullal attempted to kill another youth at Mastikatte in broad day light on Tuesday, July 12. Mohammed Kamaluddin(25), son of Nasser who escaped the murder attempt on his life was later admitted to Thokkottu hospital with serious injuries.
Background

During Ramzan fasting period, three youth, Arfaan, Nisar and Jaffer led by their team leader Mukhtar had barged into the beef stall belonging to the victim and decamped with Rs 12,000 cash.  A complaint was registered by Kamaluddin at the local police station. Finally police managed to arrest Mukhtar and he is languishing in the jail. Enraged by this action, the other three associates of Mukhter threatened to kill Kamaluddin and however their bid during broad day light failed with the victim escaping with serious injuries. However, the public managed to catch the father of one of the accused involved in drug trade after a long chase.

Jaldi Siddique, father of Arfaan along with few others were following the injured Kamaluddin on the way to hospital in Thokkottu. The public who noticed Siddique, chased him and managed to hand him over to the police. It is learnt that Jaldi Siddique is involved in supplying drugs to students of various renowned schools and colleges in the city. The public have accused him and his accomplices of disturbing peace in the area by involving in drug selling business.
