Mangalore :Zilla Panchayat President Asha Timmappa Gowda has instructed officials to take steps towards the effective implementation of the Grama Snehi programme launched at every ZP constituency level in order to enable the ZP members hear the grievances of people of their constituencies.


She was presiding over the monthly district level KDP meet held at the ZP auditorium on Thursday July 17.Termig the first Grama Snehi programme as successful, she said the second programme will be held on August 5. The programme is gaining importance as district level officials will be the nodal officers and grievances of public are directly accepted. She directed the officials to give priority to solving the grievances aired during the Grama Snehi programme.
Reacting to complaints of misuse of Anna Bhagya rice, she instructed the Food and Civil Supplies officials to pay surprise visits to the fair price shops.
Appointment of doctors under National Rural Health Mission should be conducted at the earliest, the ZP chief said. She further instructed PWD officials to repair the Panja-Kadaba road which is in a bad shape.
Satish Kumpala, Vice President of the Zilla Panchayat stressed the need to select eligible beneficiaries under various schemes for the welfare of minorities and SC ST people. He directed officials to prepare a list of projects to be undertaken under PM’s Gram Sadak Yojana next year.
ZP CEO Tulasi Maddineni revealed that the ration card distribution process has hindered the normal activities at the gram panchayat level. She also directed officials to take steps to make a gazette notification on all bore wells to be drilled in the district.
