Govt to study draft copy of Anti-Superstition Bill: CM

Mangalore:Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has  said that  the government will decide on the proposed Karnataka Prevention of Superstitious Practices Bill-2013 after studying the draft copy of the same.

Speaking to media men at the Mangalore airport on November 8, Friday, he said  the National Law School of India University (NLSIU) which was entrusted the task of preparing the Bill has submitted the draft copies of the same.

Referring to the Sowjanya case, the Chief Minister said the state government handed over the case to the Central Bureau of Investigation  heeding to the appeals of Sowjanya family.  However, on the demand for a CBI investigation under Supreme Court  supervision, the Chief Minister replied in the negative and said the state government had no authority in this regard.
