Mangalore: The officers of customs at Mangalore International Airport seized three ten tola Gold Bars and three Gold Strips totally weighing 466.600 grams and valued at Rs 14.20 lakhs on Wednesday February 12.

The gold was concealed in a Coffee Mug, an LED emergency light, a LED lamp and a LED switch light which was packed together inside a carton by the passenger.

The accused passenger has been identified as Aboobakker Siddique Kottakkani, a resident of Kottakkani, Madhur in Kasargod. He had arrived at Mangalore International Airport at around 6.30 pm by Air India Express flight IX 820 from Bahrain.

The customs officers are further investigating the case.
