Bantwal : This is the pathetic tale of  BC Road the headquarters  of Bantwal taluk. A glance at the heaps of garbage dumped  on the roadside behind the private bus stand  in the town, presents the tell-tale plight of the people here.

The Bantwal TMC which has failed  in its duty of effective garbage disposal has also not given attention towards maintenance of cleanliness on roads which are used by thousands daily.As far as the road behind  the private bus stand is concerned, the wastes are strewn in such a manner that  people have little space to move. Shopkeepers in the vicinity also complain that they find it difficult to engage in business in the area.

It is a common sight to see hotels dumping wastes on roadsides least bothered about the health hazards posed by it. Citizens say even complaints with the TMC have been of no avail. The local councilor too has been apprised of the problem  but of no use, they say.

The local residents who have lost their patience have now decided to dump the wastes in front of the TMC office as a mark of protest.
