Mangalore : A gang of assailants stabbed a youth near  the Kulur Junction in  Mangalore on August 7, Wednesday night, leaving him critically injured.

The youth identified as Ramachandra from Kottara  has been admitted to a private hospital in Mangalore where he is battling for life. Sources said Ramachandra was returning home from work along with his friend Munna when the incident took place. It is learnt Ramachandra had been to a bar near Kulur Junction on his way home. As soon as he came out of the bar, the assailants attacked him with a knife and escaped.

Sources said an enmity with some people over cock fighting activities in which Ramachandra frequently participated, might have culminated in  the attack.

Kavoor police are investigating the case.
