Bantwal : Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy has said that the Congress was sure to win the upcoming Assembly elections. He also stated that the victory will further strengthen the UPA government at the Centre.
The Kerala CM spoke to reporters at the election office of the Congress at BC Road during his visit to Bantwal to campaign for Congress candidate B Ramanatha Rai, on May 2, Thursday. The future of Karnataka lies in the hands of the Congress, he said adding Karnataka can register all-round progress only with the help of Congress. He said the people who are disillusioned with BJP rule will teach the party a lesson.
Speaking about Ramanatha Rai, Oommen Chandy said he enjoins a special connection with Kerala and has actively taken part in campaigning for the party even during Kerala elections. He described Rai as an able leader.
Candidate B Ramanatha Rai, party leaders Harikrishna Bantwal, BH Khader, Sudarshan Jain, Mailappa Salian, Abbas Ali, Shabeer Siddakatte and others were present.
