Frustrated over ill-health, timber merchant’s wife ends life

Kundapur :A 43 year old woman, the wife of a timber depot owner in Kundapur, has  allegedly committed suicide by jumping into a pond, a kilometre away from her house on Saturday May 3. It is reliably learnt that the woman was suffering from kidney ailment and the intense pain she suffered forced her to end her life.

The deceased woman is Prema, wife of Nagaraj K of Gayatri Timber Depot. Sources say Prema had not revealed her illness to her family members and was suffering from intense pain since some months. On May 2 night she went missing after serving dinner to her husband. Her body was found the next morning in the pond.

Police said she has left behind a death note stating that no one was responsible for her extreme step and that she had ended her life out of frustration over her ill-health. The letter also requests her husband to take care of their children both pursuing medical studies in Bangalore. She has also expressed her desire to contribute Rs 5000 to Tallur  Mahalingeshwara Temple.

Kundapur police are investigating.
