Kasargod: Tender coconut is one natural drink which is packed with goodness. Some like it as it is, while many have creatively blended the humble ‘bonda’ into juices. However, Central Plantation Crops Research Institute (CPCRI) in Kasargod has added fizz into the tender coconut in its latest experimentation and with this the nutritious tender coconut will now adorn the dining tables as fizzy beverage.
The credit of adding fizz to tender coconut goes to Centre Researcher Dr Nilofer, who has successfully launched the product, made merging carbonate with tender coconut water and sugar has been replaced with glucose so that the difference of taste of each tender coconut water is countered. The life of this product is two months while it may last for four months on refrigeration.
The product named as ‘Fresh Up’ is now available in 200 ml, 600 ml and one ltr packs.
