Kasargod : Over  70 students of the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya at Periya in Kasargod district  were hospitalised after they fell ill due  to food poisoning.

It is learnt, the students fell sick after they had  their lunch on  January 19, Sunday afternoon.  As the students  began to vomit  in the night, they were immediately rushed to the District Hospital at Kanhangad. The students were discharged after treatment.  Medical officers said the condition of the students has improved and all of them were recovering.

Officials have collected the food samples from the  hostel for  lab examination.  Deputy Commissioner PS  Mohammad Sageer, DySP PP Tamban and others visited the hospital as well as the hostel.
