Mangaluru: On March 30th Ritesh was murdered at Derebail Konchady, in the Kavoor Police Station Limits. On that fateful day around 1 am, Ritesh and his friends Nitesh, Yathish and Lohith were returning home after attending a religious programme. Soon, an acquaintance of Ritesh, named Prabhakar Bangera, accompanied by Nishant Kavoor others them and picked up a quarrel
with Ritesh over some financial issue which turned ugly and Prabhakar and Nishanth attacked Ritesh and he died in the fierce attak. Three of Ritesh’s friends were also grievously injured in the incident.
On Friday April 3rd, five persons were arrested in connection with the incident. The arrested are Prabhakar Anchan alias Prabha (30), a resident of Nekkilagudde, Nishant Kavoor (30), a resident of Lohithnagar, Shailesh alias Shailu (21) of Bondel, Vinodraj Shetty (24), hailing from Urwa and Bharatesh from Kumblapadavu in Mudipu. They were produced in court and remanded in judicial custody.
Of the accused, Prabhakar is an accused in several assault cases in Kavoor, Urwa and Mangaluru rural police stations, but Ritesh, the victim too, Ritesh was a prime accused in the Girish Putran murder case, police sources said.
