Mangalore: As many as 100 residents of Mogaveerapatna here put in a great deal of efforts to  pull ashore a fishing boat which capsized near Alivebagilu on August 1, Thursday evening.

The  boat with three fishermen on board  had ventured into fishing from Bengre on Thursday morning but capsized in the evening on its return journey. The three fishermen in the boat swam ashore to safety while the residents of Mogaveerapatna  saved the  boat  by pulling it ashore.

 The  fish catch in the boat was later  shared by residents of Mogaveerapatna as a  gift for the toil put in by them to rescue the boat.
