Mangalore: A  motorcyclist who was seriously injured in a road mishap  on July 31, Wednesday night at Kula village in Bantwal, succumbed to his injuries at a private hospital in the city on ,Thursday.

The deceased has been identified as Shivaprasad(42) hailing from Kemaje. The mishap took place when Shivaprasad along with Ravindra (31)  was proceeding on the Vittal-Kabaka road when a speeding pick-up truck  from the opposite direction, knocked down their bike at around 10:30 pm on Wednesday.

It is learnt Shivaprasad who was not wearing a helmet sustained serious injuries in his head. The pillion rider Ravindra is undergoing treatment in the hospital. His  leg has been fractured.

The driver of the pick-up truck which caused the accident, fled the scene of the accident.
