
Mangaluru: It is for the first time in the state that Dakshina Kannada District Working Journalists’ Association (DKDWJA), in association with AJ Institute of Medical Sciences started ‘Media Health Clinic’, which would provide free health-check-up for journalists and their family members once in a month at Patrika Bhavan. As per the plan, this free health check-up camp will be held every second Tuesday of every month at Patrika Bhavan.
This ‘Media Health Clinic’ was formally inaugurated by Commissioner of Police Dr. Sandeep Patil on Monday, April 1. After the inauguration, Patil asked the journalists to make best use of the facility. “Usually, journalists are busy round the clock, which leaves them with very little time to concentrate on their health. However, it is important to take out time to ensure that everything is fine with us as far as health is concerned,” he said.
A J Group of Institutions Chairman A J Shetty was felicitated on the occasion. Later, he informed about the various pro-people facilities of AJ Institutions and asked the public to utilise the same. Senior Journalist Manohar Prasad was felicitated during the occasion to mark 35 years of his glorious career.
DKDJU president Srinivas Nayak Indaje, AJ Hospital Director Dr. Prashanth Marla, physician Dr Ashok among others were present.
