BJP MP Siddeshwara files nomn, opines win with greater margin

Davangere: Sitting Member of Parliament from the Bharatiya Janata Party, G M Siddeshwara filed his nomination as the Davanagere Lok Sabha candidate, here on Monday, April 1.

He submitted his nomination to the Returning Officer and Deputy Commissioner G N Shivamurthy.

Speaking to media, Siddeshwara said that as it was an auspicious day in terms of his family deity he chose to file his nomination this day.

“As per the guidance of my elders I have filed my nomination today. I have asked my wife too to file the nomination to be on the safer side”, he said.

Responding to the questions regarding why the Congress party had not fielded its candidate yet, he said that there was time till April 4 for them and that he would not speak low about them. 

Siddeshwara opined that the work done by the MLAs and him would boost up the PM Modi wave.

He said, “When I first stood as the MP candidate, I had won with a margin of over 17000 votes. Currently, as the local bodies and six MLAs are completely in the hands of BJP, I will definitely win yet again with a greater margin.

MLA Prof. S Linganna, former MLA B P Harish and other leaders accompanied him for the nomination submission.

Siddeshwara has won from Davangere Lok Sabha constituency for three consecutive times.
