Mangaluru: A fire accident took place at Pachanady dumping yard at around 12.30 am, Saturday on April 2.

On receiving information fire service men hurried to the place and took the situation under control. “The fire was lit by someone inside the dumping yard. Since February it’s the third fire accident over here. MCC is not agreeing to provide electric connection inside the dumping yard. It will be helpful for us to keep an eye on such incidents if they provide us electric connection inside the yard,” said the incharge of the landfill Mohan.

He further said that fire service staff never responded to his call and he had to call the officials of MCC and they called the fire service. MCC should provide light and personnel to avoid such cases.
Everyone in the place was relieved after the fire got doused.
