Mangaluru: Five houses were gutted when a fire broke out in Pandeshwar late on Saturday evening at around 8.15 PM.

An short circuit is said to be the cause of the fire. Sources from the Pandeshwar fire station informed that all the five tile roofed houses are located close to each other. Various electric and other household items were destroyed in the blaze. The fire personnel rushed to the spot as soon as they were informed about the incident and doused the flames.
