Mangalore: Film star Bhavya who joined congress recently campaigned for DK Lok Sabha candidate Janardhana Poojary here on April 5, 2014.

After offering pooja at Shri Mahalingeshwara Temple, Pandeshwar, Actress went on a door to door campaign in the locality along with congress workers and former Mayor Shashidhar Hegde. The localites were surprised by her sudden visit.

Bhavya, once a heartthrob among Kannada cine lovers, joined Congress last week. Her father was a strong supporter of congress and she is also attracted towards congress for its pro-women policies and concern of the poor. She also mentioned Congress leaders like late Indira Gandhi and Rajiv, who sacrificed their lives for the nation.

Bhavya praised Janardhana Poojary for his 50 years of successful political career. She also urged Mangaloreans to support congress and vote for Poojary for the betterment of Mangalore.
