Kundapur: A father and a son  were killed when the bike they were riding  was hit by a speeding car near the Tekkatte petrol bunk on April 27, Saturday afternoon. The deceased are Rajesh Acharya (45), a resident of Kedoor, and his son Sharanu (9), who was a student of Kedoor primary school.

The two were on way home to Kedoor when the speeding Toyota Etios  belonging to Ambika Travels rammed against it in its bid to overtake. The passengers in the car were also injured. The family of Lakshman Shetty from Mumbai was on way to Ernadi in Padubidri for a Nagamandala when the mishap took place. Shetty’s family members   Laxmi, Shashikala and Sudhakar were injured. The driver of the  Toyota car with  Maharashtra registration, escaped from the scene of the accident. Kota police have registered a case.
