Father sells Children to lead Lavish Life

Kasargod: In a most tragic incident, a father tried to sell his two children for Rs 1.5 lac, here. The town police arrested thirty-one-year-old K Ratish, a native of Bhirantabail -Tsunami colony.  The police investigation revealed the genuineness of the case.

The truth surfaced when Prema, wife of Ratish lodged complaint with the police of harassment.  Ratish had sold his one-and-a-half-year-old son – Nikhil to a person in Kundapura of Udupi district for Rs 60,000 and sold Bablu through a women lawyer in Mangalore.

The police had to trace the baby sold in Kundapur.  Prema and Ratish were living together.  Ratish had deserted his first wife and their 4 children.  Prema also deserted her husband to live with Ratish.  Meanwhile, Ratish tried to sell the children without the knowledge of Prema.

Ratish had taken Prema to Mumbai after selling both the children, wherein he tried to abandon her.  Once they returned home, Ratish began harassing Prema who lodged complaint with the police, when the issue of selling the children surfaced.

Ratish confessed to the police that he had sold the children to lead lavish life.  He was earlier working as helper in fisheries boat but changed job and began working in a restaurant at Mangalore.
