Kasargod: A tragic road accident involving a bike and a truck reported on the National Highway near Uppala on Sunday August 10 evening, claimed the life of a 40 year old man while leaving his six year old son with critical injuries.

The deceased is Zulfikar (40) from Badiadka. His son Shazeel who is injured has been rushed to the hospital.

The mishap took place when the father and son were  on way home  after visiting  the house of Zulfikar’s  in-laws at Bappaithota near Uppala. It is said, a truck  heading towards Uppala from Mangalore rammed against the bike throwing both the father and son on the road.  Zulfikar died while being rushed to the hospital.

The deceased Zulfikar was an electrician. His brother Khalid too had died in a road accident in 2009. Manjeshwar police have registered a case.
