Kasargod : Excise officials of the district have seized nearly 499 bottles of liquor which were being unauthorisedly transported in an autorickshaw and bike at Anekallu near Manjeshwar on September 9,  Monday.

The men in the two vehicles fled the scene no sooner the  excise officials stopped  them. Those who gave the cops a slip have been identified as  Anil and Satish of Durgipalla.A case has been registered by the excise police.

It is believed that  the liquor was being smuggled  from Karnataka to Kasargod in view of the ensuing Onam celebrations.
