Kasargod: The Excise sleuths on January 29, seized 35 litres of spirit from a fish transport truck at Maajali, Karwar.

Jithin and Joshan from Kerala were detained by the officials. One more accused T M Aslam fled the spot.

The fish transport vehicle from Goa to Kerala was carrying 100 spirit cans. Excise officers have confiscated spirit worth of Rs 7 Lakh and the truck.

Excise officers Sanjay Nagekar, Kamalakar Pauvskar, Ganesh Naik and others were part of the operation.
