Mangaluru: Chief pontiff of Pejawar Sri Krishna Math, Udupi, who is all set to ascent the Paryaya for a record fifth time, Sri Vishweshwara Teertha Swamiji on Thursday January 7, said that a residential school will be built in a 40-acre land in order uplift underprivileged children irrespective of caste or religion.

The building will be named ‘Anandateertha Mahavidyalaya’ and will impart education from elementary to higher levels. The land was granted to the Math by the government.
Talking to reporters at the residence of General Secretary of Udupi Paryaya Samiti and President of Kalkura Prathistana Pradeep Kumar Kalkura, where thulabhara ceremony was organized for the seer, he said that the school was one of the top priorities for him.
He further said that publishing and translation of books, scholarly lectures, providing better facilities including a spacious car parking for the Math visitors, increasing the bandwidth of bisiyoota to poor children and aid to poor patients were among the other important services that he would be undertaking.
The Swamiji also said that ‘Bhaktha Deekshe’ will be given to all devotees who seek it irrespective of any barriers. Throwing some light on it, he said that there are two types in it – Nama Deekshe, in which an individual can prefer to be non-vegetarian and consume liquor and Mantra Deekse, which can be given only to the ones who do not consume non-vegetarian food and liquor.
Will talk to Uma Bharti on Yettinahole
Asked whether he would talk on quashing the Yettinahole project to his disciple, Union Water Resources Minister Uma Bharti, who will attend the Paryaya, he replied in affirmation. However, he added that the decision was not in the hands of an individual but was dependent on the collective conscience of general public and politicians. He said that he will also send across a message to Prime Minister Modi through Uma Bharti to withdraw the project.
Recollecting his fast against the Nagarjuna power project, he said that it did not evoke the desired response as there was hardly anyone with him. A project such as Yettinahole can be prevented only if people come together and cannot be stopped by a single person, he said.
The seer said that Narendra Modi had said that he would attend the Paryaya, but the Math hasn’t received a communication yet.
He also said that he would reveal all the financial details pertaining to the Paryaya after final calculations, in order to maintain transparency.
Law of the land should be followed in building Ram Mandir
Sri Vishweshwara Teertha Swamiji, who was at the forefront in supporting the Ram Janmabhoomi movement, said that building Ram Mandir is a complex task. The Lok Sabha legislation has to first pass the bill and the Supreme Court verdict also matters very much. The State government concerned has to approve of the bill only after which the Mandir can be built. The establishment of the Mandir should take place according to the law of the land, he opined.
