Mangalore : DYFI State President Muneer Katipalla has said that political parties which failed to come to the aid of a poor Muslim woman Ayesha Banu who  was lodged in  Patna jail along with her baby on the false charges of funding Patna blasts, have no right to seek the votes of Muslims.

He was addressing an election  meet of the CPI(M) Party at Panjimogaru. ‘When Ayesha Banu was arrested, she was labelled a terrorist by the Sangh Parivar which even raised the clamour of Love Jihad. The DYFI had then  had argued that she was only linked to an illegal financial transaction (Hundi) racket and she had nothing to do with terrorism. Even then no one who claimed to be protectors of Muslims came her help,” Muneer Katipalla alleged.

Though the NIA which investigated the case, censured the Bihar cops for the arrest of Ayesha, the three ministers from  DK have never tried to get her released. MLA Moidin Bava never enquired about the well being of her children. It is shameful that they now seek the votes of Muslims,” Muneer said.

Corporator Dayanand Shetty, CPI(M) District leaders Vasanth Achari, Basheer Panjimogaru, Anil D’Souza, Sowmya, Khaleel Ahmed and others were present.
