Kasargod : Local residents trapped two  Ganja peddlers at Melparamba here and have handed them over to the Bekal police.

Those arrested are KN Rajesh Kumar (46) of Paravanadka Maniyangana and Murugan (46) of Kodangallur. It is learnt, the two had arrived at  Melparamba to sell the drugs when they were caught.

There had been complaints since long that drugs were sold in the locals school area and that some agents were involved in supplying ganja to students. Some parents had also lodged complaints with the police and school authorities in this regard.

Sources said on January 20, Monday locals spotted two school children smoking beedies with ganja inside it. When questioned they revealed the identities of the drug peddlers thereby helping in their arrest.
