Bantwal : Vittal Police have arrested two youth in connection with several thefts reported  in Vittal area in the recent past. The arrests were made at Kashimutta on December 27, Friday. A two-wheeler used by the accused duo has also been seized.

Those arrested are Nasir alias Mohammad Nasir (19) of Pajir Jogibettu near Konaje and Saleem (20)  of Mavalli villae in Uttara Kannada district. They were intercepted when they were heading towards Vittal on the Kasargod route on Friday morning in their Pulsar bike sans registration number.

The duo admitted their guilt when interrogated. The police have seized their mobile phones and a cash of Rs 1000.

It is learnt they had stolen from mobile shops in Honnavar, Bhatkal, Murdeshwar, Panambur and other places. Even the bike seized from them is said to be a stolen one. The two have been produced before court and remanded to judicial custody.
